Why we built it
Solar panels, a digital meter and a dynamic energy contract make it possible to save a lot. But only if you know when to use your energy. Most apps show you numbers. ems42 tells you what to do with them: start the dishwasher now, it runs on your own sun until three; run the dryer tonight, when power is cheapest.
What it does
- Live power flow: sun, house, grid and battery in one picture, updated every minute while you look. Also on a tablet on the wall.
- The right moment: when to run the dishwasher, washing machine or dryer, on your spare sun or in the cheapest hours with a dynamic contract.
- Morning and evening email: in the morning the day ahead; in the evening how today went and when to use your own energy tonight and tomorrow.
- Costs and capacity tariff: what your energy cost per month, and how your highest quarter-hour sets your capacity tariff.
- Should I invest? What a home battery, extra panels or a heat pump would do for your home, worked out with your own readings.
- Gas and water too, if your meter passes them on.
Set up in a few minutes, no extra hardware
Your postcode, your panels and battery, your contract, your data: four steps. Upload the quarter-hour values from Mijn Fluvius, or connect your Loxone Miniserver or Home Assistant for live values. No panels? ems42 helps you too, with the cheapest hours of the day.
Your data stays yours
ems42 is hosted in Europe, without tracking or advertising. We never store your address or meter number, only a location rounded to about 1 km for the sun forecast. Live values are kept for at most 10 minutes, quarter-hours for 13 months and after that only monthly totals. The logins of your home system are stored encrypted, and you delete your home and all its history in one click.
Try it
This is a soft launch: ems42 works, it's free during the launch, and it will keep growing. Set up your home at ems42.be and see tomorrow when your sun and the cheap hours fall. Missing something? Tell us; it helps us decide what to build next.
ems42 gives insights and suggestions, not guarantees: the sun forecast can be wrong and savings are estimates.
